Feather flags displayed in flagship stores are usually for marketing purposes, but there might be situations that these flags are used otherwise. This way, it will be easier for the people to know what you want them to know through the unquestioned visibility of feather banners. Most people experience musculoskeletal problems some time during their lifetime. I have been toying with the idea of either Paper Soldiers or the WoFun plexi-glass soldiers to fill out certain periods I’d like to play, but don’t want to invest loads of time and money into the project. So, paper soldiers should fit the bill and I never had WSS armies before! Economy priced classroom flags are priced to fit any school’s budget. They are very similar to those of the Royal Irish Rangers, but without the historic badges in the corners, and the Royal Irish Regimental badge (which also demonstrated in the clip is not worn anywhere on the uniform). The regimental colour was appropriately rifle green (the colour of the regiment’s No 1 dress uniform).
ABOVE: The Battalion Colour of the 2nd Battalion of the VDL Legion. BELOW: The business end of the 1st Battalion of the VDL Legion! BELOW: 1st Battalion as seen from behind (top) and front (bottom). BELOW: 2nd Battalion from the front. The idea of a 120 figure battalion in 40mm with all five flags (1 leibfahne and 4 regimentsfahne) flying is almost too much to resist. I am staring at a mountain of 40mm Hessian/Prussian musketeers and I’m wondering what to do with them. Nigel Billington of 18th Century Press fame had often inspired me with his 40mm S&S Prussians and I sent him a sample of the range. Trident Miniatures, the brainchild of Doug Carroccio of the Miniatures Service Center and sculptor Sean Judd have trotted out the Hessians for their 40mm American War of Independence range. Miniatures are from EUREKA MINIATURES 28mm “Age Of Reason” range, and Flags are from MAVERICK MODELS; based on my designs. Ray and I long ago decided to base all of our 28mm stuff singly and then use sabots to play any particular rule set.
This means single rank of figures on a small garden flags thin base. I have about 2/3 of the infantry and the Guard du Corps at 20:1 sitting in boxes under my desk and was ready to dive into painting. I am back and have much painting to do. After getting back in September and chasing my seniority with Union Pacific Railroad from one end of the State of California to the other, there were all manner of family medical issues to deal with, so my hobby has of neccessity taken a back seat. It’s customary in the Army of The Holy Mormoanick Kingdom Of New Wales for members of the Royal Family to allow units to take their Personal Standards into battle. The VDL’s two Battalions have the honour of carrying into battle the Personal Standards of two Princess’s in the same battle. The game would end automatically if the Parliamentarians were driven behind the large stone wall to their rear – as happened in the actual battle. I even had a thought to game in 1:5 with a homebrew ruleset of mine I call der Kleine Krieg. The team even noted other red flags that should, in its view, intensify scrutiny of import/export companies.
Such flags included the flags which identified a hospitals as safe havens or directed wounded to them; flags that transmitted signals or messages over long distances; flags that distinguished the upper levels of the command structure within an army; flags that marked the boundaries of an infantry unit’s camp or its flanks in combat; and flags that served as marks to guide upon for cavalry companies or light artillery batteries. As a result I have reflagged ( or whatever word you would use) all the horsemen and infantry standard bearers that were carrying my hand painted banners. Here we see Drummer Kane and the Personal Standard of Princess Hayley. Many of the TMP’ers here might be familiar with Alxbates of “Tales from work” fame. There are many display agencies that work together with clients to create designs that meet the purpose. His brush is far better than mine and it is his work in the picture above. Here in the United States Of America, the dive flag is just a red flag with a diagonal stripe running usually running from the top left corner to the bottom right corner. The centre of the flag had a red circle with two gold lines creating an inner and outer section.
